About Us
We are a church that is welcoming to all people and we take that seriously! Homeless or wealthy. Single or married. Family or none. Ethnicity is no concern of ours and neither is sexuality. 98 years or 9 weeks old, you are welcome.
Wherever you are on your journey of faith, we welcome you! We hope you find this Christian community to be a place of renewal and hope, one which strives to honor our Lord Jesus Christ through service and worship, and a place where the love of Christ is made known to you. A Bit More about What You Will Find Here St. Matthew's stays completely out of politics. We ask that folks do not have political conversations on the campus - they never end well and since we are here for the purpose of loving all people let's get about that work. We have a good bit of hands on outreach in the community as well as substantially supporting local community organizations with financial gifts. Children We have a wide range of programs for children beginning at age 3. In addition to Sunday School, there are small age-related group meetings for them monthly in which they do a lot of play activities while they learn about how they are loved by God. Our VBS program is excellent! We fill the rest of the summer with fellowship outings. We have special family events throughout the year such as Trunk and Treat, Christmas Pageant, Gingerbread House Creations, Valentine's Outreach, Eggstravaganza, and Mother's and Father's Day celebrations. We have a number of students who have differentiated abilities and they are fully integrated into the life of the church. They participate in children and youth activities as well as acolyte and read. We try hard to meet students where they are --- adults, too, for that matter. Youth We have youth ministry programs for those in grades 7-12 which meet weekly beginning in mid-September. There is a lot of community service, conversations about God's place in our lives, and a good bit of focus on loving the person God made you to be and honoring the others around us as God made them. There are mission trips each summer for the students in grades 7-12. These groups are relational as we believe that this is key to forming healthy young adults - they have enough non-relational time with their devices. Parish Profile |
