(meet at church at 5a; or spend the night at Pastor Sonia’s; prepare and serve breakfast to the large homeless population in partnership with the downtown churches; will arrive back at St. Matthew’s by 8 a.m.)

This is, by far, the best retreat that Pastor Sonia has ever experienced – and she has experienced a ton of retreats!

Happening is a unique experience that helps foster a personal more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ. During the Happening weekend, participants will experience the love of Christ through music, talks, prayer, worship and a community led by fellow students, which is supported by clergy and lay adults. It is filled with small group conversations, challenging talks, and unique experiences planned by other high school students so they are relevant and engaging.

At New Beginnings, you can expect to make new friends and to share with old ones through singing, skits, talks, videos, games, worship, and conversation. Led by a team of teenagers, adults, and spiritual directors, New Beginnings helps us discover things about ourselves, our friends, and our families.  We also learn ways to live out our faith in our daily lives.
